Are SAA qualifications internationally recognized?
Yes, Our members dive around the world, As an SAA diver you may even
be treated with awe and respect!!! but don't worry, we‘re not as
tough as some PADI divers think we are!
Do I need any kit to start?
We will recommend that you buy your own Mask, Fins & Snorkel
during your basic training period, they will fit you better and you
will know you have them at all times, advise on equipment will be
included in the lectures but if you wish to buy before the course
starts then see our Equipment Advice
What do I need on the first session?
The first week you just need your swim costume & towel, a 20p
coin for the lockers (refunded), £5 pool entrance fee, your
membership application & medical self cert forms and you membership fee
Do you hire kit?
No, but as a member your entitled to borrow certain club
scuba equipment free of charge, after the pool training equipment
may be borrowed from fellow members or hired from dive shops,
Is there much of a social aspect to the club?
Oh yes! Besides the dive trips and dive holidays the club can be
found at "The Old Beams" after each pool sessions, we also have
monthly meetings at "The Rock Tavern" and we organize many other
social events through out the year.
