Helping others with Underwater Fund Raiser

'Stourport Divers' offered to support an event to raise funds for 'Operation Covert'. The funds were needed to re-build the buildings burnt down at the Campsite at Rhydd Covert where local Cub & Scout groups have camped and benefited from the facilities for many years.

At the Stourport Sports Centre a sponsored underwater event was hosted by 'Stourport Divers' :-

* The 11 & under did snorkel in the swimming pool.

* The 12 & over experienced 'try-a-dive' scuba.

* A raffle was held on the day.

* A 2nd raffle was drawn at the club AGM.

Sponsorship Raised £214.70

AGM Group Raffle Raised £144.00.

Raffle on the day Raised £160.00.

Donation from Little Lakes Golf Club £250.00.

Grand Total £768.70

A very big thank you goes to everyone who gave up their time, donated prizes, raised money and donated funds for the Operation Covert Appeal.

Volunteers from 'Stourport Divers' helped raise funds for local charities by using two club boats to not only enter the Stourport carnival street procession but also provide 'Safety Cover' for both the day and night river events, on the following day the club utilised its stock of SCUBA equipment to offer a free 'Try-A-Dive' event, a fun filled weekend was had by all. Besides learning to SCUBA dive, becoming a SCUBA diver instructor, powerboat handling, diver coxswain, Oxygen admin, first aid and heartstart are just some of the additional skill courses available through the club and 'Stourport Divers' are very pleased to be able to use these skills to help run such charitable events.
