Open Water Dive

Learning to SCUBA dive

The initial SCUBA training is based at the Stourport Leisure Centre on Sunday afternoons (3-6pm),
The basic training program is broken down into
'10x pool lessons'  coupled with around '10x theory lectures' spaced over a 10 week period

While we request students make every effort to attend each lesson the program is flexible to work around your availability & ability to master the skills, see here for -

After the basic training you will be asked to demonstrate your skills in a 'pool assessment' and pass a theory exam before we take you to an
'Open Water Site' and you take a dive for real !!!

After passing your pool assessment, exam, and an 'Open Water' assessment you gain your 1st SCUBA qualification :-)

What do I need to start?

The course is open to anyone age 12 to adult subject to -
'The junior restrictions'
and 'The medical restrictions'.

All new member receive 'free' loan of SCUBA equipment during basic pool training, however, we will recommend you buy your own mask, fins  & snorkel during the course, see here for -
Equipment advice

On your first day you will only need -
* Your Self Cert Medical form & membership application form,
* Your swim costume, towel & a 20p coin for the lockers (refunded)
* Your membership fee's & £5 pool entrance fee.
